Benefits
Current starting salary for a Park Forest Police Officer (excluding lateral entries, which is higher) is $50,686 per year. Upon completion of probation the salary is increased to $54,786 per year. Salaries listed are valid until June 30, 2013, upon which time increases take place.
In addition to annual salary, 12 paid holidays, and overtime, Park Forest Police Officers receive the following benefits:

Starting officers receive 80 hours of vacation time per year, which increases to 120 hours after 5 years of service, with additional increases throughout a career
8 hours of accrued sick leave each month

24 hour access to the Park Forest Police Department Fitness Center, including access to certified personal trainers
Patrol officers work 12 hours shifts, which mean a 3-day weekend off every other weekend
